Successful Partnership
In 1997, to start their business, the women each put $50 into a tin can and promised never to take out a loan. Amazingly, they never have.
"Running a small business comes naturally to us," says Cori, whose father owned a men's clothing store.
That business acumen, combined with a love of the creative process, keeps them going strong. "We grab onto a little piece of inspiration-a photo in a magazine or a scrapbook layout, for example-and then we brainstorm," says Cori, describing their approach to design.
2007 marks their ten-year business anniversary. "It's amazing to see how far we've come," says Cori. Are there any more complicated math formulas on the horizon? "I think we finally understand the saying 'It takes ten years to be an overnight success,'" says Myra.
