Quilt designer: Allison Jane Smith of Plaids and Prints
From: Quilts and More, Spring 2006

Designer Allison Smith enjoys the challenge of combining old with new. “I love this quilt because it has a fresh, simple design, but the colors and textures of the fabrics create a vintage feel,” she says. “I always strive to create quilt patterns that combine a fresh style with old-fashioned flair.”

When selecting fabrics for the quilt, Allison didn’t limit herself to traditional quilting fabrics. For the outer border, she took advantage of the interesting textures and weaves found in the Wuthering Heights fabric line by 3 Sisters for Moda (including velvets, twills, and plaids).
